To use the Installation Test tab, you first need to download and install the Safe Exam Browser. Once students are scheduled for their End of Curriculum exam - which we recommend doing a couple of months in advance - they will receive instructions in their Exam Scheduled email and see an alert on their ExamDriver home screen encouraging them to download and install the Safe Exam Browser, log in through that browser, and test their machines using the mock exam. The mock exam is not scored - its intent is to ensure proper launch and to give you a feel for the questions that will be asked, not to test knowledge. This mock exam features five End of Curriculum exam-style questions with a 10-minute time limit that will help faculty and staff, students, and IT teams make sure that the Safe Exam Browser is installed properly in advance of exam day. Users who have downloaded and installed the Safe Exam Browser lockdown tool can now access a new Installation Test tab that features a free, on-demand mock End of Curriculum exam. Thanks to its safe kiosk mode SEB can also be used in all kind of public presentation situations, where web based content is presented and users should not be able to manipulate the Windows that it is running on.Just-released ExamDriver features will help programs confidently implement the new End of Curriculum exam. You can download and open files linked in your online exam, edit it in a third party application and then upload the results to your online quiz/LMS again. In a separate user account managed by OS X parental controls you can run additional (third party) applications during an exam together with SEB.

This virtual PC detector hinders manipulating SEB when used in unmanaged environments. SEB detects when it was started in a virtual instead of a native environment and refuses to run. Hyperlinks embedded in Javascript, in Flash and other plugins are ignored when they link to another host than the one of the current page. Besides that, the browser is supporting Quicktime, Java and Flash content (as long as the required Flash plugin is installed on the system). In the browser window there is no right mouse (or ctrl-) click popup window available, it can be set whether links requesting to be opened in a separate window should be blocked generally, opened in the same browser window or in a new SEB window.
