This is done to prevent duplication of the same combination of flavors in a different order but it does have the downside that some of the flavors are not in their typical form e.g. Another thing I’ve done to keep the list organised is list the individual parts of complex flavors in alphabetical order.

These categories aren’t perfect and you’ll find some overlap but I think it helps to keep the list a bit more organised. ‘vanilla chocolate chip’ (vanilla + chocolate) or ‘rum and raisin’ (rum + raisin) Combination flavors – more than one flavor element e.g.‘carrot cake.’ The flavor of carrot cake is distinctive but it’s made up of several individual elements Single complex flavors – one flavor element that is complex as it is made up of several parts e.g.Single simple flavors – one simple flavor element such as ‘chocolate’ or ‘vanilla’.The index is separated into multiple sections and the flavors in each section are listed alphabetically. However, I will have a separate list of ‘potential’ flavors to be included in the index pending proof of their merits. Therefore, the list will only include flavors that people actually eat on a regular basis. Pretty much any edible material can be turned into an ice cream flavor and if I were to include them all this list would go on forever and not be particularly useful. If you think I’ve missed anything, please let me know (I’ll have a solid method of doing this organised soon). I’ll be updating this list over time to make sure it’s as comprehensive as it can be and I’ll be relying on some help from the public (that’s you) to keep me on my toes.
